More like 4.5 stars

More like 4.5 stars. Simple, beautiful, light and pretty easy to install. We really wanted a good duct system, but I just lost my mind and didn't want to spend $700 on a cheap duct system. This is a great lazy, economical choice. We use it without air ducts. Relatively calm. I almost wish the high settings were a little stronger, but they're good for pulling out most of the vapor and smoke. Make sure it's no more than 24 inches above the oven. Pros
  • VERSATILITY: Separate rocker switches control the lights and two-speed fan for easy operation. Lamp (recommended type) - A19
Cons
  • Price that breaks the piggy bank

Good replacement! Directions in the review.

Great hood and not too expensive! It's easy to replace by yourself. Here are the steps I took: 1: Turn off the power in the switch box, make sure the power is off before proceeding. 2: Unscrew the small black screw holding the metal cover where the light wires come out to expose the wires 3: On the old unit, unscrew the nuts on the white and black wires and unscrew the ground screw 4: Unscrew the four screws under the cabinet holding the old air vent in place, move the old block to side 5: On…

Pros
  • roof vent and light control; 2-speed fan
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

I decided I would never cook fat releasing food until I had a hood, but what should I do? Well, I lived in a house with my ex (not my ex at the time) for years, and we had one of those cheap Broan hoods. We cooked all kinds of ways and the…
