Great hood and not too expensive! It's easy to replace by yourself. Here are the steps I took: 1: Turn off the power in the switch box, make sure the power is off before proceeding. 2: Unscrew the small black screw holding the metal cover where the light wires come out to expose the wires 3: On the old unit, unscrew the nuts on the white and black wires and unscrew the ground screw 4: Unscrew the four screws under the cabinet holding the old air vent in place, move the old block to side 5: On the new block, use a flat head screwdriver to pry the wire connector into the hole the wires pass through - just plug Insert the screwdriver and wiggle it back and forth until it comes free. Look at the old block to determine which one should be removed. 6: Hang the device on the four screws in the corner (see my photo). 7: Attach the wiring like the old one, white to white, black to black, etc. 8. Screw the wire cover with a black screw 9: Install the old light bulb (I used the light bulb from my old device. 10 : Turn on the power and check the device, both the fan and the light.11: Take a step back and marvel at how much money you saved by making it yourself and enjoy the praise Your spouse or loved one. It might sound intimidating but it was easy. It didn't come with a lightbulb so get one handy. The filter mine came with seemed better than the others.
