Best buggy software in scanners and supplies

I had a previous Canon LiDE product (models 20 and 30 I think) and was quite happy with it. I recently replaced it with an HP printer/scanner combo. The printer died so I decided to ditch it and buy another flatbed scanner and returned to Canon knowing the scanner is USB powered (which is really cool). The scanner is good, high resolution, fast. The software is BAD! Lost connections, a poorly intuitive user interface and a dumb interactive shortcut that Canon probably spends most of its…

DISAPPOINTED ON PC, GREAT ON MAC

SAME DAY UPDATE: The first review was written about using it on my PC; I downloaded the drivers to my Macbook and the scanner works much better. I changed the star count to four because I enjoy using it through my Macbook much more. ORIGINAL REVIEW: While I don't use this often, when I need it a few times, it's been an incredible use of PITA. Because I use all USB ports on my computer and I don't even keep a USB hub connected. I plug it in and almost EVERY time I get a message that it's not…

This photo scanner works and is inexpensive! Highly recommended!

I had a photo scanner that used an iPhone. It worked pretty well, but with the newer iPhones I didn't need it anymore, and with old photos of various sizes to scan, the iPhone wouldn't work anyway. Since I still had over 10 photo albums of old photos (many in black and white) to scan, I was looking for an inexpensive alternative to scanning photos. The Canon LiDE120 fits the bill. Not only is it relatively cheap, but it also makes scanning paper photos much easier. The description seems to say…

After years of using LiDE scanners, they're still great!

Canon simply rules the world of imaging. Photographing, printing, scanning, etc., they do it all. This is probably my third Canon scanner in all these years. My first was the Canoscan LiDE 20, this bluish purple thing. It worked perfectly for 20 years without the slightest failure, but somehow it got lost, most likely during the move. Then I had a Canon all-in-one printer, which again had no problems. I've since gifted my parents all in one, but found again that I needed a scanner. After…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Damaged

I originally wanted to use it with my Windows 10 PC, but I've heard some people say that the scanner doesn't work well with Windows 10. Then I decided to use it with my iMac. I read a review from someone that said it's just plug and play on a Mac. It's not like this. I plugged it in and it didn't work. The Mac system was checked and it was able to detect the Canon device on the USB port, but it wasn't set up. I manually downloaded the drivers from Canon's website and installed everything. Then…

Great scanner for the price, I highly recommend it

Great little scanner for the price. I've used a multifunction printer/scanner for years and they are great, especially when you need to scan 20 or 30 pages using the sheet feeder. All-in-ones are usually large and don't fit on your desk, so you have to get up and go to the scanner to use them. It's inconvenient to get up and walk to the printer to scan a page or two, and really inconvenient for flatbed scanning. There were times when I needed to scan a lot of old photos, which involved a long…

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Vulgarity
