Depends on what you are sharpening, I opened up the diameter of the plastic tube, I installed pieces of natural sandpaper, worked like a champ.

This tool works flawlessly. The cylinder head developed a nice cross pattern and was easy to control. Flexible spring-loaded heads that ideally pass through the cylinder wall.

Well, a wider connector seems like a good idea, but that's the exact size of the replacement bricks. The screws holding it together were so tight that I was only able to loosen one without ruining the head, so changing the bricks isn't as convenient as the others.

There should be a locking nut on the center screw that holds everything together. If you turn the drill in the opposite direction, the screw will come out and the parts will fly apart. The rest works great! I have not used it to hone cylinders but to finish the inside of DOM tubes to install bronze bushings. This creates a very smooth surface.

This was fine for my little caliper hole honing project, but once the honing was complete all the tarmac on this thing was completely removed. If you are doing more than a light touch up I would recommend purchasing additional pads. All in all a great price for a handy tool that I needed. Definitely better than sea freight

Very good tool. Most of the reviews about how easy it is to crack are written only by people who don't know how to use this tool. They either left the oil sprayers or the crank and broke the tool on it. I was hoping this would remove the rust ring I was imagining, but unfortunately it has to be sent to the machine shop. The flaw of the tool is that it creates very nice shading. I used trans oil as a lubricant.

Used on my 2002 Artic Cat 300 ATV and it worked great. My ATV was spewing oily smoke while warming up. I wanted to replace the piston, rings and cylinder but couldn't find all the parts in the kit. I ended up replacing the piston rings and using them to sharpen the cylinders and it worked great! I used my quad for ranch work, it doesn't smoke and has less power. Change the oil soon, and then do all the work. Highly recommended!

Used on a 50cc cylinder. It was a 2-stroke engine and stones got stuck in the intake/exhaust ports. A ball grinder might have worked better, but with a little attention to detail, this worked well. The stones were aggressive enough to create the pattern of shading desired. The shank has a flexible part with a spring that keeps the sharpness in the cylinder even if you don't hold the drill perfectly straight. It is adjustable so you can use it for multiple. I received this grinder today, six days after ordering it. It seems just as well made as the more expensive Hons I've had. It has a good range of diameters to work with. The only thing I don't like is that the shaft rotates out of the base when the adjustment knob is unscrewed, but Loctite will quickly solve the problem. I recommend putting a wrench on the clamp on the flexible part and using threadlock to secure the threads. I'll know more about this sharpener once I use it, which will likely…
