Excellent product for pipe heating cable

Works great, I used pipe wrap to go over it, I randomly test it and it heats up as described, I will be buying more for other areas, imagine just be sure you wrap the little black thermostat with it or it just stays on. I mean it doesn't matter and it doesn't get hot but electricity ain't cheap I know lol

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Available for replacement

No complaints about using RVs!

I used it for my motorhome in the winter. Much cheaper than heated hoses! I ran a water hose parallel, wrapped each leg in duct tape and covered them in pool noodles and never had a problem with everyone else getting cold! Worth every penny and easy to work with, good visual glow and temperature gauge well done.

  • Pleasant

2 months passed and it stopped working

It worked great while it lasted. Then we had a freeze and -nada-. It wasn't even warm. Completely dead and I can't figure out why. It wasn't moved, touched, chewed or anything like that. Luckily I also bought some pipe insulation to keep the pipes from freezing. It's too late for a refund, we may need to speak to Revain about this "30 day return policy". Sometimes there just isn't enough time.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Some problems

Well made, but nothing for taps.

Works great but should not be used on water lines/fire hydrants. According to the instructions, the device must not be wound on pipes, branches or hydrants. The ad should say so, but it doesn't. This product must be installed in a 3-foot straight line along a 3-foot straight 3/4" - 1.5" diameter water-filled metal or plastic pipe. I bought it for a sphigot/fire hydrant but it doesn't work. However, it will last.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

It works so you don't have to. Build a freeze-resistant water hose!

I made a freeze resistant water hose to get to the chicken coop by wrapping PEX (with shark fittings) in aluminum foil then heat wrapping then more aluminum foil then covered with foam wrap and with Secure aluminum tape. This runs my automatic chick watering system and has survived some very cold nights. No more freezing water pipes and hand carrying water for my birds. This little gem saved me a lot of time in the cold. * Wrap it around a pipe and faucet and it needs no maintenance!

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Hard to tell

NOT FIT FOR THE PURPOSE!

Until yesterday I was using a small radiator in a ten meter long underground to protect pipes from freezing, but decided that it was too dangerous and a waste of energy, so I bought this product and spent a year and a half Hours there to put his on. An absolute nightmare, with old insulation, dust and dirt in the back and only 30 inches of headroom to work. Result? First Frozen Pipes! After installation I tested the product with an ice pack as recommended and it lit up but there must beโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Has defects

A MUST when camping in sub-zero temperatures

If you're setting up your motorhome for sub-zero temperatures, this is for you! I'm sure Camco will stay in business because of the newbies who don't know any better. Heated hoses (and most other products) are junk, but they're something that's always on the shelves. DO NOT use Camco heated hose. I used that and for $25 more in tape and foam I had a much better tube for less than the cost of a camco that would snap at the worst possible moment. Order the one closest to your hose, but no longerโ€ฆ

  • Sturdy construction
Cons

just right for my motorhome

To create a winter water line for my motorhome. I purchased a 25 foot Ebonyline water hose (regular water hose is NOT recommended), wrapped the hose in aluminum foil, ran the heating cable straight through the pipe, taped it every 6" and covered the pipe with 1/2" foam insulation and Plastic. wrap to protect from moisture. The thermostat attaches to the nozzle at the end of the hose, and the end of the cord attaches to the brass elbow of the dwelling. The elbow is then covered with a plasticโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Long-term test results
Cons
  • Can be retrofitted

That works great! fits rough plumbing

So I just got my 12ft Frost King and wanted to do this test. Background: I am driving my small 20ft car to Moose Camp for 10 days. The average low at 9500 feet will be about 15 degrees at night and I wanted to keep the water lines from freezing. Other than that, I didn't want to assume anything, so I set it up here at home for a test. Being in the country I didn't want to start my generator and ruin the moment with a noisy machine running all night so I grabbed my portable starter and set upโ€ฆ
