Type of review

So far 4 out of 6 ribbon spools are defective - the ribbon jumps over the spool on the feed side and gets stuck - I tried to contact the seller and/or Revain but the return 'window' has closed , so obviously I have no choice but to urge people NOT to buy these defective audio cassettes, even though after a few weeks these tapes started to fail. I've had tapes that have lasted ten years - a few months is just not acceptable.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Disappearing

Great cassettes at a great price!

Great price for these cassettes! I brought these for my husband who enjoys using them to record activities as they are easier for him to use and he really likes how much he gets out of them. Although technology has overtaken them, he prefers to use them and his tape recorder. As he says, sometimes there are old things that just can't be beat and they always beat a lot of modern tech stuff! I highly recommend them as they work really well and are great value for money!

Pros
  • Nice item

Mixed results, sorry

This review is for Maxell UR-90 cartridges which I have purchased more than one pack of. Yes, the audio is usually quite good, but there were frequent instances where the audio was dull and uneven at the start of playback. It's a little tricky to diagnose, but I think the culprit is the tape, not the cassette deck. That's why. I have a fairly new cassette deck (a good 2 cassette Teac) that uses the cassettes (about a dozen) I recorded on my previous deck (was also a Teac) thirty years ago…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Somewhat service friendly

The price is great. If you want better quality

price is very cheap. If you want the best quality, you get what you pay for. Hiss is to be expected, but heavy to moderate bass is recorded wherever I hear the spooky sound of playing backwards on the opposite side. Perhaps thought the subwoofer and bass settings might have contributed to the vibration during listening and recording. No, because I recorded with the subwoofer off and the bass set to zero. you still hear I only notice it in the breaks between the songs. Not bad quality, but…

Empty tape

From time to time I need a new empty cassette. I could probably just delete whoever I wrote to, but I don't have to anymore, but that would require me to actually determine whether or not I wanted to keep the record. This makes it easier to get a new tape. Recently I realized that I've come to the end. So it's time to buy more. Believe it or not, local big box stores don't have them anymore (and if they do, I and a few vendors couldn't find them). Thankfully, Revane still has them. I ordered…
