MDF difficult to smooth, poor adhesion

Not my favorite product. It is very difficult to apply a smooth layer on MDF with a brush. Water-based topcoats did not adhere well and did not adhere well.

Poor adhesion to paint!

I am a Zinsser fan but this was my first experience with this product without sanding the previous surface as the condition of the product can be met. I painted over the old paint that I peeled off first, but the BIN primer didn't hold. I do not recommend using this polish without the usual preparation.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

Cat urine coated: paint and primer

I was wondering if the chipboard should be replaced as it was soaked in cat urine. I tried it first and it seems to work. I had to replace the carpet but it's easier than the floorboard. The cat is still peeing in the same spot so I'm not sure if she can smell where she peed or not. I have plastic fluff so she can't get the carpet or floorboard wet again. I don't smell urine anymore.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • High price

Good quality foundation at a great price

I really like this foundation. You can put it straight onto anything with minimal pre-sanding and it will hold up very well and provide a good base for whatever you choose to put on it. The photo shows a built-in closet that I am renovating. First I had to remove many layers of old paint, after that the wood didn't take the stain very well. So I decided to apply a primer and then make it look like a faux wood. Here's a cabinet with Rust-Oleum BIN primer.

  • This is amazing

Works perfectly! for paint, wall treatments and accessories

This primer worked exactly as I had hoped. It had excellent adhesion when priming my chipboard cabinets. I have attached before and after photos. Just in case I applied 3 coats of primer and 2 coats of semi-gloss interior paint. I added some M-1 Advanced Mildew Treatment (both primer and color) to keep it mold and mildew free in my bathroom and it still worked great. I also used primer to prime my brown wood paneling before painting it white, which also worked fantastic. I'm glad I chose a…

Fiction! for paints, wall care products and consumables

This is a great primer, the best I've ever used. It's expensive but worth it. yes it is that good The smell doesn't blow you away, the coverage is fantastic, it washes off better than you'd think by looking at a liter can and cleaning up is a breeze. Cleaning up with soap and water for this quality primer is so unexpected. To achieve that coverage, one usually sticks with a very smelly, messy clean that has me throwing the brushes in the bin. I truly believe and will go to BIN for any furniture

  • Absolutely brilliant!

Doesn't hide wood tannins

Purchased specifically because everyone says you should use a shellac based primer to hide wood tannins when you're choking. There are wooden doors in my apartment where no matter what white paint I use (latex, oil, alkyd) the orange-red tannins of the wood ooze out. So I went through the process of stripping paint off the doors every 40+ years, letting them dry and then applying this product (again because the description says "Seals knots, sap and tannin") and let it dry/cure . . I have now…
