- DigiByte is an open source, decentralized platform based on blockchain technology, having its own cryptocurrency based on a much modified source code bitcoin. The idea behind DigiByte was to provide a cryptocurrency of faster, more scalable and more secure transactions than bitcoins. DigiByte was also supposed to prevent the centralization of mining, which was already at BTC. DGB was one of the first cryptocurrencies Proof of Work with more than one cryptographic algorithm to increase stability, security and network dispersion. The DigiByte network has been operating since January 2014.
The maximum supply of DGB has been set at 21 billion units, of which 105 million (0.5%) have been premined. The expected date of excavation of all DGB units is 2035.

Thanks to the implementation of SegWit, the road to the future implementation of the so-called solutions of the second layer of Lightning Network, allowing for immediate microtransactions beyond blockchain (off-chain).
In May 2017, the DiguSign protocol was also implemented, allowing notaryisation and authentication of documents by means of smart contracts located in the DigiByte network of blocks.
DigiByte also has a Digi-ID application that allows you to create cryptographic digital signatures, used, among others, for signing documents or confirming your identity. Digi-ID is also available from the official DigiByte mobile application.
The DigiByte platform also has a standalone application layer that allows you to create smart contracts, decentralized applications (dApps) and digital assets (eg tokens, tokens, loyalty points) operating in the DigiByte network of blocks.

Excellent, I also agree with you, the good thing is that it is decentralized and poses great security. I have been using this currency and have invested in it, apart from that I am also participating in airdrops that reward DGB
