My first impression of the Jesus Coin Ethereum based project was more it being a scam project due to it's unusual name and impractical quixotic use case of connecting humans to Jesus but seems not so. Looking through it's social media profile and tweets, it showed that the project received recognition from notable organization like Forbes and even Vutalik Buterin once tagged the project. This shows the community support the project had during it's working days. During it's time of trading, the coin JC once had a 24 Hour trade volume of $15 million. All these and more surely indicates that the project was never really a scam.
It's quixotic use case of connecting man with Jesus can be said to be very impractical and this might be one of the reasons to it's downfall. On it's tweets, obscene languages were widely used and being a self acclaimed spiritual coin, it further discloses how impractical it really was as a project. In my view, it shouldn't be regarded as a scam but it's currently not active so users might never get to see it again.
