If you believe you are running a trusted node for a contribution, don't waste your time. First, you will not receive any compensation. Second, you can identify something as unreliable as a network disturbance. Ripple is handling a large number of XRP nodes.

Output is possible through transactions because XRP is allegorically nothing more than a central source of Ripple server databases. Anyone who has Internet access can achieve the same throughput through Amazon, Microsoft or Google's available cloud services. In the end, Ripple's only positive contribution is the marketing of widespread adoption of crypto-currencies.
