Essentially Steem is a mixture between a spin-off of Reddit and an everyday blogging site which pays you for both producing quality content and curating other Steem User's content. A very rewarding project that fully (and very effectively) utilises Blockchain technology to create arguably what is the Social Media network of the future. A highly active user base means that Steem is the most active Cryptocurrency at the moment but it has nowhere near the traffic issues that both the Bitcoin & Ethereum network suffer from.
Holding either Steem or Steem Dollars is probably one of the safest and best options for Cryptocurrency investors, and there has never been a better time to buy with Steem hitting lows recently.

- - Steem uses Blockchain to provide a feasible service, not just another useless ETH-based coin - Very active user base - Busiest Cryptocurrency in terms of trading - Scalable to cope with surges in activity & transactions - Potential future giant of the Social Media world - One of the better investment opportunities there are (safer & higher return)
