Do not feed geckos canned food!

I bought this for my daughter's gecko because I thought it would be a good idea. Little did I know that leopard geckos are hunters and that eating inanimate food is harmful to them. "Jars" of crickets, mealworms, etc. are also low in nutrients, and there are pet stores who refuse to order them because they make reptiles sick. not suitable or can harm the leopard gecko. I'd say it's my fault for buying it, but if something is labeled specifically FOR the leopard gecko I think it should already be considered safe and incapable of harming the animal it's intended for damage. . Luckily, when I gave my daughter the surprise package, SHE knew about it. So I searched a bit and it was easy to find many backups that prove it's no good. "I have a few stories and maybe a little advice for you. I've heard nothing good from people who have tried Can O products. In fact, you're the first person I've heard of whose pet hasn't gotten the disease. I work in a pet shop and a few people have complained that their bearded dragons, geckos and other pets have become very sick after eating various Can O foods (silkworms, grasshoppers, crickets). As a result, my boss refuses to even order them now. I'll add an answer from the lizard tip thread for reference, others talk about lizards actually getting sick. Personally, I'd be a little nervous even if I did the others before your gecko did. Not because they've been in the jar for who knows how long, but because your gecko isn't getting any nutrients out of them other than what you sprinkle on them. Loading the gut is very important for reptiles, but you can't do that with canned food. Maybe you could try ordering worms offline if crickets upset your mom. Silkworms don't move very quickly, and they're incredibly helpful to your gecko. There are many other options besides canned food, I hope this helps."
