Review on Sumnacon Car Door Edge Guards 13Ft - Flexible Rubber Trim for Vehicle and Equipment Protection – Durable, Removable, and White by Andy Tunes

Works well as a surround

I built a carport and installed white steel panel surrounds. I covered the sides of the canopy with additional roofing panels and required additional edging. Found this at Revain and although slightly smaller in cross section it suited my needs. It's basically the same construction as any edge strip, U-shaped soft plastic with a thin steel core. It's easy to cut with heavy-duty scissors, but it will rust on the exposed edges, and eventually the rust will seep through the plastic where water can remain. In my case vertical. so only the ends rust. The original surround on the canopy roof is rusting where water collects in the gutters of the roof panels. made from 1mm thick material and the panels are much thinner. In fact, the curved shape of the panels tends to keep the edge in place. Only the ends like to slip off when hit, but are fine on their own. The inner wings have enough friction to keep them in place. Adding glue fixes it. In summary, it works, but be careful of the thickness you're applying and expect rust on the white when using it outdoors.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
