We got this pet door larger than our original Petsafe door because we had a large dog. With Petsafe there are no problems. However, this one has two double plastic doors, so here in the mountains it is better protected from the winds, which sometimes exceed 60 mph. We couldn't test it at that speed, but it appears to have stronger flaps. We had to remove the magnet and metal flaps to allow our dogs to get in and out without making them too much noise and hassle. They seem to be doing their job. One thing to knock off this star is that it doesn't seem to be able to cover the thickness of the wall like Petsafe did with the extra case. There is a gap where there is only the material of the wall and not the interior lining. So far, after over a month, it seems to be holding up well and keeping out the wind. The dogs were able to get used to it without the metal, so we're happy. If so, I'll update my comments next winter.
