We live in a wind tunnel in Southeast Idaho and we usually get 30-40 mph gusts and this thing holds up surprisingly well! We tried the PetSafe Wall Entry Door and the wings might not even have attached if the wind was strong. I wish I had bought it sooner, although it can cost 3-4 times more than PetSafe, I'm sure the energy savings alone will make up for it within a year.

We got this pet door larger than our original Petsafe door because we had a large dog. With Petsafe there are no problems. However, this one has two double plastic doors, so here in the mountains it is better protected from the winds, which sometimes exceed 60 mph. We couldn't test it at that speed, but it appears to have stronger flaps. We had to remove the magnet and metal flaps to allow our dogs to get in and out without making them too much noise and hassle. They seem to be doing their job.

Great product. Very durable (assembly in August). After a harsh winter in the Midwest, there will be an update. People complain that professionals have problems because they did not read and fully understand the instructions (take your time, it's worth it). I like the design and the materials used in this product. It's mostly high quality stuff. The door I received looks like a newer model than the photos I saw online. Mine uses plastic clips on the bottom of the doors instead of the metal clips I see in photos all the time.
