I like the design and the materials used in this product. It's mostly high quality stuff. The door I received looks like a newer model than the photos I saw online. Mine uses plastic clips on the bottom of the doors instead of the metal clips I see in photos all the time. I would have preferred there to be more metal than plastic so I'm a bit disappointed that they downgraded to plastic but didn't lower the price. Speaking of price, it's insane for what you get. Don't get me wrong, the product is really good but it's not worth $500. At best, it can cost $250. I could buy a really nice full sized door for my house at that price, so paying that much for a tiny pet door that's just a metal frame with some silicone door flaps seems pretty expensive. Other than that, I couldn't find a better pet door on the market, so I had to pay for this guy if I wanted to play. At least it's made in the US, so the money stays here. Installation was a breeze for me. I bought a pass door so I had to play with the drywall. Hooray (no)! I measured twice and cut once and the door and tunnel assembly installed with no problems. It was very easy to install. Just make sure you're comfortable with the plan before proceeding and you'll be fine. My two dogs are still getting used to the double door configuration and it seems quite intimidating to them. They installed a single door in one of our back doors and have no problem with that. I removed the magnets on the sides of the silicone door panels to make it easier for them to open the doors. I thought it was necessary to get my puppies to use it and I was right. They are still very indecisive and love entering a house much more than leaving it, but I think they will eventually become more comfortable using it. Since there are few comparable alternatives on the market, I have no choice but to recommend these. Product. I'm still suffering from sticker shock but I'm happy with the purchase and the product. I might even get an Endura Flap door when we replace our tailgate this fall. I just won't pay for it. :) But I like that Endura Flap is an American company. It's great to see America making a quality product again, even if it's just a pet door.
