Review on πŸŽ₯ Acer QHD Webcam: Crystal Clear Video with Omnidirectional Noise-Reducing Microphone by Scott Gafur

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expected more from a microphone

The Acer QHD webcam (2560 x 1440) with built-in omnidirectional noise-cancelling digital microphone has both advantages and disadvantages. On the plus side, it connects quickly to both the Chrome OS and Windows 10. Connection is via a long 98 inch USB cable. It also has an obviously sloped cover that lets you see at a glance that the lens is closed, unlike most sliding covers. Video quality is good with fixed 2K autofocus, but nothing that would make me pay extra for a webcam. This corresponds to other webcams with the same resolution. The big disappointment for me is the quality of the microphone. I really expected more from the omnidirectional noise reduction technology and that's why I bought this webcam. Unfortunately the sound isn't as good as some of my older webcams. To be honest I tried this webcam on two different systems and no matter how I adjusted the settings I was disappointed that the call quality wasn't clearer and the fact that the noise was lower than I would expect from a webcam had expected. Famous brand cameras. The Acer QHD (2560 x 1440) webcam with built-in omnidirectional noise-cancelling digital microphone does not meet my expectations in terms of microphone quality, although the video is as expected and the plug-and-play functionality works well.
