
I actually prefer the chiseling style where the wooden handle goes into the hollow tang of the steel blade rather than the steel blade tang going into the wood. But they have metal tips to keep the wood from splintering, so I think they'll last quite a while. Nice big handles definitely look like beech, a valuable wood for this purpose.
