Review on 🎸 Sennheiser e906 Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone for Guitar Amplifiers by Dusty Tofte

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything is OK. For this price.

So after working with this microphone for a long time I can say that without a doubt. If you are trying to record professional sound. Do not use this microphone! It'll give you better sound than some mics, but if you're using high-end guitar amps, this mic will give you some of the same problems as others in this price range, which is a little noise in your recording and the quality will be terrible. No way am I playing guitar so loud it's going deaf or anything, I'm sitting right at her feet by the mics and she just kept giving me the same bad tone in the background of the recording. like the bottom MXL mics. To get a halfway decent sound I use this in a mid-range setup split into left and right channels and use an MXL 990 to get even more amp space in stereo on a single channel. Both mics are cheap and you get "good" sound, especially if you have someone who is very good at mixing and mastering your recording. There are much better mics out there, but you'll need to spend around $700 for the one that's going to produce great quality recording.

Pros
  • Live, full sound
Cons
  • Without automatic
