Review on Zojirushi NHS-06 3-Cup Rice Cooker (Uncooked) by Nate Jenkins

We never had a rice cooker; We only ever cooked rice on the stove. But our son is returning from Bangkok with his Thai girlfriend so we bought the same one as her. Some reviewers say it squirts and bubbles through the hole in the lid, making a mess. We argued about whether rice should be washed. The directions said but our bag of rice didn't. I've never washed rice before, but Thai does. So we did an experiment. The rice, which we briefly rinsed and drained before cooking, was perfect. The same high-quality Thai jasmine rice, unwashed, caused splattering and spitting from the hole in the lid. So you are here.
