Description of Zojirushi NHS-06 3-Cup Rice Cooker (Uncooked)

Easy-to-use single switch control. See-through glass lid with stay cool knob. Stay cool handles for easy transport. Durable nonstick inner cooking pan. Every Zojirushi rice cooker comes with a plastic measuring cup. This cup has a capacity of 6-ounces, or about 3/4 of a U.S. measuring cup. The capacity of the rice cooker is counted in these 6-ounce cups of uncooked short grain white rice. One 6-ounce cup of raw rice makes about 2 to 3, 6-ounce cups of cooked rice.

Burns the Rice: Small Appliances

I was ready to love this simple and highly acclaimed rice cooker from Zojirushi, but it kept burning the bottom layer of rice. Definitely not user error as there are no setting options. Just add rice and water and turn it on. I later noticed several other reviews mentioning burnt rice. Returned.

Excellent work! - Rice Cooker

Hello, I am Japanese and have been using Zojirushi Rice Cookers for many years. I bought this little one for trips. should wash the rice about 4-5 times until the water is clear, and after cooking, the light will go out, you need to stand for 15 minutes to make the taste much better! In my photo you can see a hole (should be bigger, but it's ok) in the rice. This shows that rice can taste best!

It's important to rinse the rice so it doesn't splatter or bubble

We never had a rice cooker; We only ever cooked rice on the stove. But our son is returning from Bangkok with his Thai girlfriend so we bought the same one as her. Some reviewers say it squirts and bubbles through the hole in the lid, making a mess. We argued about whether rice should be washed. The directions said but our bag of rice didn't. I've never washed rice before, but Thai does. So we did an experiment. The rice, which we briefly rinsed and drained before cooking, was perfect. The same

3 cups best for kitchen and dining room

These reviews seem to mix all 3 sizes. The 3 cup model (the smallest) has NO warming or steaming insert and the cord is not detachable. It just makes great rice, especially if you're experienced with one of those simple pots. Got it to replace a 1974 National (Panasonic) which still works! Thoroughly rinsing and soaking the rice will minimize spitting through the small hole in the lid. Zojirushi has great detailed instructions in the Recipes section of his website. Want the perfect brown rice…

The best rice cooker in over 25 years!

UPDATE: With the new one for 5 years As reliable and functional as the original. No changes to my original comments. I usually only make 2-4 cups of rice at a time. I've made up to 7 cups without the "splatters" described by others. If I made 9-10 cups it might be, but you could cover the tear hole with a small cloth. I would recommend buying a larger size if you are concerned. Still very happy! I bought my first Zojirushi rice cooker over 25 years ago while I was working in Japan. The stove…

Simple, no frills rice cooker

I love this rice cooker. It's simple, straightforward, and gets the job of cooking rice done. We got one of those fancy 10 button rice cookers that I now only use to make oatmeal. We don't want to wait 45 minutes for our rice. We went back to our homemade 6 cup national rice cooker. It works fine, but I'm tired of looking at this huge thing on my desk when we're making 3 cups max. The size of this rice cooker is roughly equivalent to a 1.5 liter slow cooker. I make 3 cups of white rice + 3.25…

Base model Far from base

I bought the base, the smallest rice cooker listed here, after my old Rival rice cooker died. It was a gift and lasted over 7 years so I was pretty happy with it and might have bought one if I could find it. But I didn't. I finally settled on this one, despite being more expensive than other mainstream rice cookers, because I was very happy with Zojirushi's other products, especially the thermos and decanter. Wow! I was surprised! I expected it to be almost the same as my old rival since I have

A simple and effective product for the kitchen and dining room

Looking through Revain I realized I've had this rice cooker for 15 years! So I thought it was worth a review. I use it once or twice a week on average and have only used it to cook brown and white rice. foamier bubbles, in addition to brown rice, which requires more water). As long as the lid is on properly (not floating in water or a random grain of rice) and you cover it with a towel (a flour-bag towel works great), you're good to go. But I'm not a switch cleaner. I check that the lid is on…
