love these flash mounts. I use them on my umbrella stands and softboxes. It's good that they gave me adapters in case my stand doesn't fit the mounts. My tripods work fine without an adapter, but it looks like they can even be attached to a standard camera tripod with threaded bushings. Incidentally, the adapters are reversible with two different thread sizes for different tripod/tripod connections. These brackets appear to be metal. They appear to be heavier than aluminum, but they are still very strong. You can't miss them if you want to use the flash in your umbrella flashlight. If I had any complaints it would be that they use a thumbscrew in two places that requires a screwdriver to loosen/tighten. The other two joints used a plastic handle for tightening. They work great, wish they used plastic grips all over instead of cutting them in half. I'll probably try to find plastic grips for two places where they haven't been used. General. I am very happy with these mounts.
