This product is just what I needed to transition from constant lighting with umbrellas to off-camera lighting. They're made of metal (not plastic) and are likely to be more durable than the stands they sit on. Great price, great product! :-)

We needed a pair of external flash mounts to use with our lightboxes and didn't want to pay a fortune for high quality. A dollar pair built for extreme conditions we would never put our gear through. They did exactly the job we needed them for and I would say they are of a higher quality than I would expect for the price we paid. Unless you're doing something really wild and crazy with your flashes, I'd say they get the job done without spending a lot of money.

Hello! I ordered a set of newer flash mounts. When I mount the screen, the screw comes out without any pressure. Very cheap plastic. I sent them back quickly. These brackets hold the flash fairly securely when you tighten the screw on the jaws with a screwdriver. I couldn't rely on "hand" assembly, but the screws are slotted. You're just a little small. The design offers enough flexibility to align the light and the umbrella. The included cleats are aluminum, not cast. When aiming, they provide a nice smooth rotation. I bought four.

These were purchased for a pair of used LED video lights that did not come with a stand mount. While not 100% perfect, they are close enough, especially for the price. They feel like a solid metal construction. The shoe mounting portion is removable, exposing a 1/4"-20 post for additional mounting options. love these flash mounts. I use them on my umbrella stands and softboxes. It's good that they gave me adapters in case my stand doesn't fit the mounts. My tripods work fine without an adapter, but it looks like they can even be attached to a standard camera tripod with threaded bushings. This is a much higher quality production than the price would suggest. It's made of matte/crumpled powder-coated metal (think classic Nikon ED lenses). The female threaded cylindrical tripod screw is good and can be removed if your racks already have a cylinder. The flash's cold shoe has a clamping action with springs.
