Review on 🔒 Enhanced Transfer Cable Lock Kit with Secure Locking Hitch Pin by Robert Arneson

I was delighted to receive this lock set for my new Transfer V2 from Kuat. Although it was an extra charge for the counter, I felt the peace of mind with the added security would be worth it. The included hitch pin lock is a perfect match for the OEM Kuat hitch pin that comes with Transfer. No problem. Unfortunately, I have found that the lock assembly cables, which have to be pulled out from inside the rack hook and wrapped around the bike, are quite imperfect in their design. The kit includes two locking cables to replace the OEM connector on the transfer bar hooks. The problem is that the cords themselves are completely exposed at the end of the tire hook and are only kept from slipping by a small magnet on the underside of the cord which is designed to magnetically "stick" to the metal inside the tire. the tire hook itself. After installing the lockout kit, I tested my posture in the stowed position both around town and on the highway. In each case, one of the securing cords slipped off the tire hook and dangled while driving because the magnet wasn't strong enough to keep the cord in place. What I did to solve this problem was put a piece of black tape over the locks to keep them in place while driving. But I feel like I don't have to and am currently considering a full kit refund. Hopefully future products will feature either a snap cap or even a simple rubber stopper to place over the locks to secure them properly.
