Disappointed with the design

I was delighted to receive this lock set for my new Transfer V2 from Kuat. Although it was an extra charge for the counter, I felt the peace of mind with the added security would be worth it. The included hitch pin lock is a perfect match for the OEM Kuat hitch pin that comes with Transfer. No problem. Unfortunately, I have found that the lock assembly cables, which have to be pulled out from inside the rack hook and wrapped around the bike, are quite imperfect in their design. The kit includes

Great design against accidental theft but not 100% protection

I love the design - The Kuat lockout kit's cables tuck into the locking arms when not in use and can then be pulled out to pass through guide the bike frame and lock itself. The hitch locking pin prevents the strut from being removed from the vehicle's hitch receptacle. Four stars isn't really a high enough rating. I would give 4-1/2 stars if I could. Just can't give it 5 stars, 100% positive rating. The cables are secured to the locking arms with a plastic tie and a 3/8" thick nut and bolt…

Locks shoo honest people away

I LOVE my Kuat Transfer 2 tray rack (bought from LBS but out of stock from their supplier) but I don't love this lock set. I think the main benefit of cable locks is that they offer a bit more security in terms of bike stability during transport, especially when in transit. B. when driving on bumpy roads, although this is actually not so necessary due to the greater stability of the trunk. I suppose a quick stop at the store is a little safer, but true thieves will laugh when they get their…
