I doubt it's even beeswax.

I'm always looking for the best price and wanted to use this for making candles so it doesn't have to be premium. (I use a higher quality wax for my lotions and lip balms.) But this product can't be called beeswax, let alone organic or cosmetic. I don't care that the lozenges are not a uniform size. It's just easier to have lozenges than trying to cut a block (plus it was actually cheaper). But I can't imagine it's actually beeswax. At first, the "Made in China” label made me suspicious. Every beeswax I've ever used was made right here in America. I don't think products from China are "clean" and "organic" like they claim. Also, why on earth do we need to outsource beeswax? Then I opened the bag. It didn't smell too bad. But it definitely didn't smell like beeswax. Not even a little bit. Am I imagining things? I pulled out my cosmetic beeswax and sniffed it. Nice. Wonderful. Such a lovely sweet honey scent. So I got my candle beeswax from the hobby lobby and sniffed it. Again a wonderful characteristic scent of beeswax. Back to that bag of wax. No sweet honey smell. No beeswax smell. Just a slight unpleasant smell. And the color is not what it should be, not the texture. The real deal would only cost me a dollar or two more. i give it back I don't want to try to use it and face disaster like some other reviewers did.

Pros
  • Cosmetic quality. Good for cosmetic and medicinal use
Cons
  • Doubtful
