This is actually my fourth machine in the last two years. I like to have a few on hand because some work better in different ways. The first fall was that pedal not working. It's okay because he took the ones I already have. The stitching is a lot tighter than my red sewing machine which is really good for making masks fit better. When it arrived it was already cut for me so I could just plug it in and play. I think the mechanics of it are much better. Let's see how it behaves on a thicker material. So far I have only used 2 layers of cotton material. My max layer with my red without skipping stitches is about 4-5. I need about 6 coats when doing the edges of thinner materials like bandana prints. There also doesn't seem to be an on/off switch other than the derailleur when the pedal isn't being used. There is also a separate button for the light. Anyway, I wear mine all the time because I can't see very well, but that might be a bonus for people who don't like the lights on. I think my biggest trait compared to my current sewing machine is that I don't like when things are hard to get, especially when rethreading, and I didn't have that problem with this sewing machine.
