I never thought that I would be SO worried about the lamp, but. This is the coolest lamp ever! It was a Christmas present for my boyfriend and he loves it too. It is modern yet understated and offers several different lighting options. The LEDs can be turned into a variety of shapes - standard flashlight, viking helmet style, or pretty much any other configuration you prefer. You can also choose the direction you want it to shine, making it perfect for reading or ambient lighting. It has 3 brightness settings that can be easily adjusted with a light press of the power button, which is conveniently located about 4ft off the floor - the perfect height for easy access as it sits behind the sofa. The base feels sturdy and the bulbs are cool to the touch. We are really very happy with this lamp and may buy another one in the near future.
