After reading all the comments on the firmware I was a bit skeptical. Others have mentioned communication issues with Cox Communications. I noticed in later comments that there was a firmware update that supposedly fixed the problem. When the modem showed up on a lightning deal, I jumped in. After contacting Cox to register the modem, it took a few minutes to show that it was connected to the internet. They were able to see my modem and register it as connected to the network, but my computer was still showing connectivity issues. Just when I was about to worry, it did a final reboot and came fully online. I suspect the delay was when he updated the firmware because he was disconnected multiple times. Once it completed its boot sequence, it would shut down and start up. As others have reported, this goes beyond the speed I'm paying for. I subscribe to download speeds of 150 m/s and the results on speedtest.net showed me over 165 m/s. Since then I've run the test multiple times and the results remain the same. I haven't had any connection problems since registering. Another note: the modem is well ventilated and does not heat up at all. Feels cool from day one.
