I am updating my review to say that one of the spikes came loose when I first used this collar. They just seem to connect, not twist. Maybe a hairpin was just an accident as they seem to be quite sturdy. I also added that my boxer wore this during his most recent encounter with the "puppy" jerk described below and it really did the trick to keep him from grabbing her by the throat and shaking her. He tried to cling to her several times and you could tell he couldn't hold on. It didn't hurt him, and he was content to take her for a walk in the park instead of trying to shake her like a rag doll. Both dogs left the park tired and unharmed. I was a happy mother of a dog. First Review: The measurement guide provided is fairly accurate, unlike some other leather collars we've tried ordering. There is an unsuspecting person who occasionally brings their poorly socialized 9 month old pup to the dog park, which is already bigger than my 60 lb dogs. Your pup loves to grab one of my dogs by the collar and shake it violently. When I take off the collar, it bites my throat. Since he only does this to one of my dogs and none of the other dogs, the owner laughs at my complaints, even though he almost had to take my dog to the vet for stitches last time. So let's go on the attack. I hope the next time an idiot and a puppy shows up, it only takes a touch or two on this collar to teach him to leave my dog alone.
