While reversing, I chipped the driver's side mirror of my car, a silver 1997 Honda Civic EX sedan with power mirrors. I have verified that this mirror will fit my car by visiting Dorman's website and looking at the options available. Installing the mirror on my car took less than five minutes. I simply removed the black covering from the inside of the door, revealing the bolts holding what was left of the old mirror to the door. The cables leading to the mirror are conveniently assembled into a plastic connector. Simply unplug, loosen the three screws, replace the mirror, reinstall the screws and bolts, reconnect the wiring, and you're done. Aesthetically, by the way, the black mirror goes very well with the finish of my door. I like the asymmetrical paint job (my passenger-side mirror is silver) because it reminds me to be careful when reversing. But even if symmetry is an issue for you, these things are so cheap you could probably buy a second one for the other side of your car cheaper than if someone painted the first one.
