gives a terrible reflection of the picture

Up close, the mirror looked beautiful. After removing all the old broken mirrors and foam tape from the old case, putting in a new one with its foam tape and looking in the mirror from afar - to my horror the mirror distorts the view outrageously. What a waste of time with that awful mirror. Do not buy.

Pros
  • delivery was very fast
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Considering the tedious work of scraping and preparing an old mirror.

This was a very economical solution to a cracked mirror. Considering the tedious work of cleaning the old mirror and preparing the base for the new mirror, I would go for a mirror with a backing for about $18 extra. I didn't experience it until I ordered this one, but there really isn't anything wrong with this product. Fits perfectly.

Pros
  • Hands Free

Easy to fix but get used to some distortion

Without the optical distortion this would be a 5 star rating. But the rear view in this mirror is strange. However, it is much better than the rear view in the original mirror which had holes and tears and could not be used at all. Luckily it was very easy to install - just peel and stick the tape. used to optical distortion but I have never seen a rearview mirror with such distortion!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Upgradable

Absolutely terrible

Doesn't fit. The double-sided tape barely sticks to the plastic and the green side is very difficult to remove. What needs to be removed sticks better than what needs to stick. Spend your money on a genuine OEM replacement. I just threw this thing in the trash and my next stop is Advanced Auto for a full mirror build. The money saved is NOT worth the headache. Glass - rough cutting. Not suitable for old base plate. That was for a 2004 Silverado and Chevy isn't great to start with.

Pros
  • Same test results
Cons
  • Minor problems

Works perfectly! on the body

Bought for dad. He probably spent 4 hours removing the old mirror lol he said it broke into a million tiny pieces. Has been running for 2 years now with no problems and works great. He was very upset at how long it took to disassemble the old mirror but when I asked him if he would do the same thing again for a very reasonable price or if he would replace the entire assembly he said, he would take the cheaper route and use the same mirror again. . I think a lot of people have had success just…

Ideal for quick, easy and inexpensive repairs!

I accidentally hit the mailbox and ripped off the mirror holder (only the black plastic piece where the mirror is glued, not the whole side piece) and smashed the whole mirror, it was late at night in my shelter! Anyway, this happened on a Friday night, I quickly ordered it before 10pm and received it early Sunday morning! Talk about helping me in a pinch! The only reason I give it 4 stars is that the mirror is slightly warped around the edges, but that's to be expected from something…

Quality/Inexpensive replacement mirror

My dad's 2001 Chevy 1500 work truck has been through a lot. My brother and I decided it wasn't enough, so we smashed the Frisbee's passenger mirror in. When it comes to car crashes, this is one of the most enjoyable, especially with the plethora of cheap parts available online. . I chose this particular mirror because it meets Prime's criteria. That being said, I'm sure most of the others are just as good. Installing the mirror took 10 minutes. 5 minutes trying to scrape the previous mirror, 2…

  • Easy installation
Cons

My advice for value: Buy a backed mirror for $12 more. My mirror was cracked in 2 places so I decided to remove it entirely. It's a mess and a person can easily cut himself. I used a hair dryer to soften the glue on the old mirror and that helped, but like a dummy I put the dryer on, pointed at the mirror to walk 20 feet to get another spatula and the thin backing started to melt when i came back . When the new mirror arrived I wasn't happy, they used a piece of double sided tape to attach the…

So I thought this mirror comes with a plastic frame that the mirror glass fits onto. I knew it wouldn't come with the whole side mirror housing. This is an expensive replacement. But what disappointed me was that it was literally just mirror glass and two strips of double sided tape. You can stick it directly to your existing mirror with the included double-sided tape if your mirror doesn't fall apart or crack. You also have the option of breaking up the old mirror and scraping it off the…
