Review on Nokian Tyres Hakkapeliitta 9 SUV 235/50 R18 101T Winter by Ingrid Pichler ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product, a pleasure to use.

Land Cruiser 200 in auto. SUV 285/60 R18 tires. Cold pressure is 2.3. Hakku 8 will be the comparison because we traveled in the same car last season (Hakki 5 and 7 rolled on cars, so the comparison won't be accurate). I traveled about 20 thousand kilometers (Km) from October to April. I ran the tires cautiously for the first two kilometers. Without abrupt acceleration or braking, and with gentle cornering. a thousand kilometers through. By the end of the season, only 1 spike on all 4 wheels had been lost thanks to my rebalancing and rearrangement of the tires (which I further changed every 5t. Km). I didn't lose it, though. When switching shoes, I noticed it crawling out halfway and manually took it out. The tire outperformed 8ku in terms of handling and brakes. (With some caveats) The tire's rutting is not a problem. (More about it below) I was especially happy with Hakki 9's braking abilities on snow porridge, as 8ka obstinately refused to slow down even at reasonable city speeds and frequently cracked ABS. I have an absolute delight from 9ki right here. Even my three-ton behemoth stops and handles flawlessly. You can really sense how 9ka clings to fresh side spikes and is less blown away than 8ku in ice corners. The tire is pretty tolerably regulated at positive temperatures (I had the opportunity to ride at + 15 + 20), slowing down on asphalt up to speeds of 120–130 km/h. Personally, I don't consider noise at all while selecting studded tires. Let's move on to the drawbacks. Only two or three of them are present. The Hakki 9's durability is less good than the 8ki's. She's specific in certain ways. On any surface and in any direction, the tire moves forward with ease, but the back tire struggles to escape the frozen rut. Reverse parking causes the tires to skid, making it impossible to climb a slick curb or escape a rut. Even with all-wheel drive, you still need to fiddle. The second flaw is that the tires do a little walking on freshly laid asphalt. I must steer. Marriage can occasionally sound like rubber snapping, but I was fortunate in that regard. Nothing is wrong. Nevertheless, it is stated in the Nokian group "FBontakte" that the tires are changed as part of the warranty. Overall, I heartily endorse purchasing the Hakku 9. Great tires

Pros
  • on icy roads, superb handling and stopping power; even at favorable temperatures, the handling and brakes are quite good on both dry and wet pavement; not feeling stuck; relatively calm sturdy landing spikes; plush and cozy
Cons
  • Inadequate cross-country performance, brisk walking on dry surface, high cost, and discovery of a manufacturing flaw (rubber cracking).
