My dog's neck is 7 inches. The chart says XS is 7.8 inches which should have fit my dog but was too small to fit her small head. This is a 3.8 pound Chihuahua with a small apple on his head and neck. What I don't understand is why the original Puppia mesh harness fits her so well and the charts say the size XS is 7.5 inches. These harnesses do not match the sizing charts, making it difficult for the customer to put them on correctly. I can understand 1. Tolerances are 1/4 to 1/2 inch, but an inch more or less is too much for animals. We can tolerate oddities, but animals not so easily. I could comment on how cute it would be and how well made it was, but if the measurements aren't accurate and don't fit, then it's useless. These harnesses should fit snugly to work. The next size Small will be too big. I'm even scared to order another original mesh as the second most likely won't fit as well as the first and I'm just wasting time. I have already returned this one and have returned other brands due to sizing issues. Customers try to be accurate with our measurements, but the charts must be accurate. I guess my girlfriend just has to wear her mesh until it falls apart because without trial and error I don't know what to do next. If you notice on some of these sites that they have a few different charts that don't even match each other - it's very difficult, like Ini, Mini, Mini, Mo, choose a size, nobody knows!
