I'm using this for ferrets, as they weren't getting enough water with the dropper type with the silver tube and ball. They seem to enjoy using this so much more and are definitely drinking more water, more easily.Other species use: I also have sugar gliders I'm going get more of these for. But I'd add a perch or put it near bottom. Same if used for birds, though smaller ones, like parakeets, if you want them to be able to get in it a little.I'd say you can use this for rabbits, rats, hamsters, or other rodents in general too, but watch out for them chewing (a metal one of these would be better for them). These are great though and easy to put together and refill. I'd recommend 100%
