Review on Cast Iron Red Enameled Double Handled Tarte Tatin Dish Pan - Mini Roasting Dish by Mitchell Norman

Great for tatin but can also be used in other recipes

I bought this tatin mold and it was absolutely perfect! I was afraid my apples would burn or stay on the bottom but not at all, look at my pie on top! It's cheaper than regular tatin molds and very thick! It's lightweight and pre-treated, which makes it easy. I definitely like it! Washing wasn't difficult, but it needs to be dried immediately as the cast tends to rust. I know that despite the coating, I sprayed a little olive oil before removing it. By the way, this is a great shape to make cornbread. I think it's not just the taten shape, or at least I'll use it for other cakes. There is only classic black that I prefer. It's made in America so I'm glad I bought it. I love it!

Pros
  • Bakes and casseroles
Cons
  • Not as thick as other molds
