UNIQUE DESIGN - Bakers

I have been using enameled cast iron pans for many years. She is easy to care for. This pan looks great on the table and retains the heat of its contents. If you are new to cast iron, be prepared for heavy weights. It takes some time to reach cooking heat, but then it retains that heat for a long time.

Nice finish and looks good.

Impressive! Apple Tarte Tatin is my favorite dish, but I didn't want to shell out another $100 for Le Creuset. Nice finish and looks as good as Le Creuset. Let's see how it turns out on the stove and in the oven. I have a good feeling about it. FYI: I'm a pastry chef.

Great for tatin but can also be used in other recipes

I bought this tatin mold and it was absolutely perfect! I was afraid my apples would burn or stay on the bottom but not at all, look at my pie on top! It's cheaper than regular tatin molds and very thick! It's lightweight and pre-treated, which makes it easy. I definitely like it! Washing wasn't difficult, but it needs to be dried immediately as the cast tends to rust. I know that despite the coating, I sprayed a little olive oil before removing it. By the way, this is a great shape to make…

Pros
  • Bakes and casseroles
Cons
  • Not as thick as other molds

Great pan for tarte tatin and more!

Tarte Tatin Black Cast Iron is a raw unglazed cast iron as I expected based on the answers to my question. The pan is a good weight - not too heavy, but not too light either. My first use would be deep dish pizza, but I also know I'll be using them for pies, quiches, mac and cheese, baked pork chops and chicken, and maybe even tarte tatin! The box states that it is covered in red enamel. never mind Again, the black pan is not enameled. According to the instructions, it should only be washed…
