Review on Sceptre C325B 185RD: Curved Screen with DisplayPort, FreeSync, Blue Light Filter, and Built-In Speakers by Emmanuel Southers

Great gaming monitor for casual gamers

I switched from a 32" (720p) TV to this 32" curved Zepter 185Hz (1080p) gaming monitor. I'm very, very happy with it. It came out in December 2019, so 1.5 years old, not too old/outdated. Note: I was set up with two screens, my computer TV and a family TV in another part of the room. Before removing your old TV/monitor, make sure the display settings are set to one screen or duplicated to the old settings. The reason for this is that after switching to a new monitor I didn't have a desktop, but I did have a cursor, the PC defaulted my desktop to the family TV, and it took me a while to figure it out. ALSO, then I couldn't change the frequency of my new monitor to 185 Hz first, the option was max 60 Hertz. because the other TV has a maximum frequency of 60Hz. I went from dual copy screen back to single PC monitor in the display settings and boom, now there's an option for 185Hz. *** The only thing that almost lost its star are the built in speakers. They work, but crap, very tinny, but I play with headphones plugged into the PC and to watch online or saved files, videos, or music. Buy table speakers. I ordered the ones below, which cost $17 (and a $5 coupon at the time). Can't rate the speakers, they're still on the way, but if you don't have them, get a pair for this great mid-range gaming monitor. UPDATE: Speakers just installed. Very happy with them. , great sound only for desktop front speakers (cheap). NOTE. The USB power connector and 3.5mm jack are located together, so they need to be plugged in very close together. Low profile so you can sit behind the monitor and not get blocked. There were some minor issues with the Realtek Audio Manager distinguishing between the new speakers, which are connected to the back of the PC, and the headphones, which are connected to the front. To fix this: Open Realtek Sound. Manager, go to options, playback device, uncheck Rear mute when front is connected, check the box to have front and rear play 2 different streams at the same time. So I can always leave my headphones plugged in. I use Sound Switch to switch between different speaker outputs via hotkey.
