Review on Sceptre C325B 185RD: Curved Screen with DisplayPort, FreeSync, Blue Light Filter, and Built-In Speakers by Sam Bhushan

I never liked the idea of a curved display; I just thought it was a gimmick not really different from a standard display and I still think this monitor is very good BUT whether it uses gimmicks or not. I didn't like the colors to begin with, but after playing around with the settings I found the perfect combination that I like. Installing the stand was easy and completely secure. There was even a small screwdriver included! Very convenient. The stand "snaps into place" so don't worry about it being crooked or anything, so that's a plus too. When it comes to this "free sync" I admit I don't know what that means. I don't even know if I'm using it right now! Of course, I enabled it in the settings menu, but I don't notice any difference between enabled and disabled, so I can't say much about that. There are two things that are incredibly bad. This display prevents it from getting a full five stars: sound quality and power delivery. I use very good external speakers to set up my PC, so I never heard any sound quality from this monitor until I played an Xbox One game. . I was in the middle of the stage where two people were on the phone. You know how in movies and stuff they always make the other person sound a little distorted and low quality to imitate their voice that's actually on the phone? This happened to BOTH people in this scene and I thought it was just weird directing, but no! The next scene of people talking in the same room had the same poor, distorted quality, and then it struck me: the quality of the speakers on this display is terrible! Luckily, I was able to pull out a standard audio cable to connect my PC speakers to the monitor, so I can now use those speakers for both PC and Xbox gaming. Thank god for that. The other issue is the power adapter, and that's simply because it comes packaged in a big box with a power cord. I hate those things and I've hated them ever since! I really can't figure out why these boxes still exist. Has nobody noticed that it takes up too much space? Although it only needs one port it currently occupies two on my network filter because if I have it at the very end of the port it will be weakened and could slip at any moment! It's a waste of space and I'm losing a port in my network filter as a result. Even if power still had to come from a box, it could still end up in a regular power cord. I've seen this design many times over the years but not on this one. Very frustrating. Overall, despite the two downsides mentioned, this is a great display! Just make sure you have good speakers if you don't already have them. You'd like the monitor a lot more if it didn't all sound like it came from a broken eighties pay phone.
