I bought this carrier to kayak where I live. I was able to use it just over 5 times before the plastic handles started to crack. These plastic handles are used to tighten and secure the roof rack to the roof rack. They contain a metal nut that is overmolded in plastic so the nut can be tightened without tools. Over time, the nut will separate from the plastic, rendering the handle unusable and requiring you to tighten the nut with a wrench in a very awkward position. If it weren't for this design flaw, I wouldn't have had any problems with the carrier. I ended up returning them and buying Yakima Jaylow.
