I used to buy another brand and it sucked. It even damaged my tule bars. This item is 100 times better and my kayaks stay in place. Pretty cool.

This is a great product when you need to transport two kayaks. It's quite difficult to lift it on a 4x4 alone if you're a small person, but it does its job well as it holds the yaks.

We bought two sets of these units based on several recommendations and installed them on the Rhino racks. When we started using them, one of the lever lock knobs came loose. Looks like the roller nut was ripped off during reassembly. I emailed Malone along with proof of purchase photos and the details I needed. They responded quickly and sent parts. Thanks to Owen and everyone involved for getting me these parts. I'll continue this review once we've used it a few times.

Just bought 2 sets of these Foldaway J's replacing a Foldaway5 center unit. I didn't like the center unit because it was more difficult to get to the cradle and I had to keep the kayaks upright by tightening the straps. These 2 blocks are closer to the edge of the roof and allow the kayak to roll back far enough to let go to tighten the straps. As for the molded wing nuts, based on other reviews and not trusting plastic wing nuts at 60mph, I replaced them with nylon locknuts and washers. I will

I bought this carrier to kayak where I live. I was able to use it just over 5 times before the plastic handles started to crack. These plastic handles are used to tighten and secure the roof rack to the roof rack. They contain a metal nut that is overmolded in plastic so the nut can be tightened without tools.
