Review on Top-Rated Malone Auto Racks Foldaway-J 🚗 Folding Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs, J-Style: MPG132 by David Everett

Just bought 2 sets of these Foldaway J's replacing a Foldaway5 center unit. I didn't like the center unit because it was more difficult to get to the cradle and I had to keep the kayaks upright by tightening the straps. These 2 blocks are closer to the edge of the roof and allow the kayak to roll back far enough to let go to tighten the straps. As for the molded wing nuts, based on other reviews and not trusting plastic wing nuts at 60mph, I replaced them with nylon locknuts and washers. I will leave the brackets on the crossbars and remove the poles when not using the kayaks.
