It just fits better. It is very crumpled when you receive it. A hair dryer can help with this, but I'm lazy and let it do the work on its own. I also have 2 kids so wiping it down all the time also helps. My family was blown away by it and kept calling it "parent hacking". All around 100% recommended if you want to protect the tablecloth from children.
