To be honest, this SD/Micro SD to USB adapter isn't that bad. This allows me to safely (in terms of performance and storage!) use my optional 1TB micro SD card as a 1TB flash drive. The only 2 catches are that the read speed is only around 95MB/s (on a card that normally runs in the 160MB/s range for reading but is actually advertised at 95MB/s from the factory, 90MB/s to write!) . Then there is heat generation due to a combination of extreme writing and prolonged use on a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port (essentially it gets HOT if you run more than 2 read/write tests in a row!). With average everyday use, it's not even bad and practical!
