Ditch Apple’s $300+ Magic Keyboard and get this instead (your wallet will thank you)

It’s been a while since I wrote a review, but I’ve decided to take the time to write this one because I think it deserves some praises. This keyboard case has to be a rare gem among the thousands upon thousands of items that Best Buy lists and sells every day because of its sturdiness and design, easy connection to iPad, user experience and bargain price tag given the quality of this product.First, it’s sturdy. Your iPad will not budge from this case. The strength of the magnet used to keep your iPad closed is incredibly strong. You hear a very satisfying "snap” when you bring the strap in place. Bonus: if you have an Apple Pencil, it’ll keep that sucker snug in place while it’s charging (it also has a separate slot to store your Pencil on the opposite side of the iPad—see photo). I’ve had a tough time finding a case that can do that without looking super bulky, but I guess my search ends here! Also despite the sturdiness and the fact that it has a keyboard, the case itself is quite slim compared to other keyboard cases, almost on par with Apple’s Magic Keyboard. A bit heavier though, which I think comes from the keyboard and the magnets used to snap the case shut. Should be noted, this is a tradeoff I’ll happily make if it keeps both my iPad and keyboard in place. On top of being both sturdy and decently sleek, the keys and trackpad themselves are very satisfying to use. The one thing I absolutely did not like about the Magic Keyboard is this awkward "snug” feeling I’d get when I’d type on it. Not sure how else to describe it, but I felt like it was inhibiting me from being able to type quickly and efficiently. This keyboard doesn’t have feeling in my experience. The keys are not too raised, but have enough ‘height’ and space between the keys to be able to easily navigate the keyboard and differentiate between the keys when typing. It actually feels like I’m using a smaller version of a laptop keyboard. My typing accuracy is a lot higher with this keyboard compared to the Magic Keyboard. The backlight is also nifty too and changes colors, but this isn’t really something I’ll use too often. The trackpad is pretty decent too. The "click” feels very similar to my laptop trackpad’s "click”. It’s also very smooth, so your finger is able to glide across the trackpad. My one thing with this is the size. I wish it could be slightly bigger, but honestly not a big deal at all nor is it a significant enough issue for me to dock a star. Functionally speaking, it works well and that’s really all I need. It’s also easy to connect, like surprisingly easy to connect. Literally just turn the keyboard on, click "fn+c” and the keyboard shows up in your Bluetooth device connection list. Done! No fancy doodad or any further action required on the user’s end. Truly a "hit the ground running” product, so to speak.I’ll have to use this more to see about battery life. Might update the review for that depending on whether or not I remember to do so. Still, a great first impression overall. Also you really can’t go wrong with the price, especially compared to the $300 price tag Apple puts on their keyboard. This feels like a genuine steal so far.
