Open end is best for keyless entry systems
Difficult to fit unless you lower it halfway. Both ends are open: the top where the key connects and the bottom so it can be clipped on. I'm not a fan of the hole at the bottom because you lose protection if it falls straight down. In general it works well, the blue is pleasant. i will keep it Perfect fit for my 2016 Outback. The cut outs on the keychain are where they should be.
