Review on πŸ” Starrett 70B Pocket Scriber: Hardened Steel Point, 2-7/8" Length, 3/8" Handle Diameter by Erick Bowers

It is very beautiful and highly recommended

It is very beautiful and highly recommended. I like the larger size compared to the 70A, it's not too big, it's like a pen and the 70A is more like a pencil. The marker is very strong, the tip has no play and is very centered, the length is great. It has good balance and a solid feel but isn't heavy. The tip can be quickly and easily removed and stored in the scriber, which tightens to secure and protect the tip. The only downside and why I'm only giving 4 stars is because the tool doesn't have a model number (I don't like that). I've never seen anything made by Starrett without a model number. I have 70 year old Starret tools that I inherited and it was very helpful to have the model number on them so I could find the right parts for them. Maybe in 20-60 years it will be a problem for me or a grandson to pull out this pen and find out what model it is so I can order a new tip for it. I really expect this writer to outlive me.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Non-automatic
