I bought 2 internal and 1 external access point and a POE switch to consolidate WiFi in my son-in-law's body shop. I've been using Cisco Wireless at work for several years and find the setup and performance of these APs exceptional. The first thing you need to do is install the Maraki Go app on your tablet or phone. A tablet is better for working with extra space. Create your SSID. Don't worry about protecting them during creation, you can change all settings after creation. The 4 limit is not a problem according to other reviewers as I only use 2, 1 business SSID and one guest SSID. Take the hotspots out of the packaging and scan the QR code in the app. Did! The hotspot is now in the console. Do this to set all access points. Choose a good location to get the best coverage! It is very important! The best way to choose a location is to use a long network cable and check the signal strength in different locations. Once you've found a better spot, connect a network cable if you're not using wireless and mount an access point. I used POE for two APs and a power supply for the other as I was lazy and didn't want to run a new cable. After everything was connected, the signal strength in the store was excellent. I was able to quickly set up any network devices that had a wireless connection available. As another reviewer noted, these APs tunnel to the internet for management and use the 10.xxx addressing scheme. I thought this might be the problem but to my surprise it was still communicating with some devices that remain on the 192.168.0.x wired network. The clock and wired network printer worked fine. The benefits lie in the ease of setup and connectivity. Internet connection is not as fast as through a directly connected router, 160MB/s download versus 60MB/s via Maraki hotspot. The network speed was much faster, which I couldn't measure, but transferring information from a laptop to a desktop over a wireless network was done at wired network speeds. The guest network is isolated from the business side, and you can generate a printable QR code to give guests quick access to the guest network. Scan and go. Very nice touch. You can also restrict the guest network so that your business connection is not affected. Overall very happy with the purchase and the ease of installation. My brother-in-law is happy about the external hotspot because he can now work with his scan in the parking lot. Instruments are fully connected over 200 feet.
