Exactly what you would expect from Cisco/Meraki.

It was incredibly easy to set up right out of the box when using a mobile device. The process is simple: download the app, scan the QR code and set up the network. But beyond ease of use, this thing shines in other key areas, including guest connectivity, outdoor efficiency, and reliability. Cisco makes good products and the Meraki product brand is following suit. The device has a nice simple aesthetic, the user interface is easy to navigate, and the network is consistently stable. It accepts…

Works great to extend WiFi outdoors to access camera

This is the second Meraki Go device so I'm already a bit familiar with the app. Setup was pretty easy, and as someone who has installed routers and Wi-Fi extenders before, I didn't find it difficult. I don't have much IT experience, but I've dealt with several similar devices and lengthy support calls, so I've learned a few things. This is an outdoor unit with an IP67 rating, which means it's waterproof and can stand in the rain. . This allows the user to create up to 4 access points, which is…

Cisco Meraki Go Outdoor Access Point is very easy to install

This is a really easy to install WIFI access point. I installed a PoE+ switch in my basement and ran Category 6 cable outside. GO is installed about 8.5 feet up at the back of my house and I get a 4 band signal at the back of my house when I used to had to use cellular. The installation process was easy. Download the Meraki Go app on your phone, scan the Q code and it will guide me through the process. I went back and added a second WIFI network for GUESTS only that can't see my other stuff…

Perfect Performance - Computers & Accessories

This device is very easy to set up with the rest of the Meraki Go system. It offers very good coverage as well as speed. I've experimented with a few settings and found that everything except the power (which I set to maximum as there is a lot of interference in my environment) works great when set to automatic. My devices move from one hotspot to another without stopping. So far, this device has withstood wind speeds of 130 km/h, rain and 100° temperatures. Time will tell if it can handle…

All my WiFi problems are fixed

I bought 2 internal and 1 external access point and a POE switch to consolidate WiFi in my son-in-law's body shop. I've been using Cisco Wireless at work for several years and find the setup and performance of these APs exceptional. The first thing you need to do is install the Maraki Go app on your tablet or phone. A tablet is better for working with extra space. Create your SSID. Don't worry about protecting them during creation, you can change all settings after creation. The 4 limit is not…

Great for the home too

So I haven't had my shop since the pandemic. While thinking about it I tried it from home and apparently it works great as you can use it in many places. It all boils down to the fact that this product is basically a WiFi hotspot/extender. It doesn't have its own internet connection, so you can only place it where it can connect to your regular WiFi. However, most WiFi extenders I've seen cost less than $50. So why are they almost three times as expensive? And that's because of the features…

Lots to like with Hiccups

this Meraki GR60 product instantly. Connections for 10BT and power are protected by a plastic screw cap. And it doesn't end there. PRO - Runs warm but doesn't overheat (what looks like excessive heat can be an issue as mentioned in my review of a competitor product) - PoE available if needed - Uses an app for configuration and the status is pretty polished, allows for configuration without logging in to the system via a "web interface" (but see AGAINST). The "Contact Support" option is offered…

Nice looking, well working WiFi hotspot but documentation MIA

After acquiring, installing and configuring two Cisco Meraki Go devices, I had an idea. Cisco believes the world is clearly divided into two groups. The first group consists of techies who manage and operate large corporate networks and make a living digging through technical data sets. The second group consists of the others who, according to Cisco, just want to plug in their devices and go. The enterprise devices that Cisco makes and sells are for the former group, while the Meraki Go…

Cons
  • Not bad, but...

My spouse is lucky because he got it up and running in minutes but he makes a living and has his Cisco certifications so your miles can vary. Ours was up and running in no time. This Meraki is definitely for the home user. According to the spouse, it is very easy to set up. You should download the app on your preferred device to get started. From there you can set up the SSID or name of your WiFi network. You can name up to four in this way. So if you want a guest network, a regular home…
