Review on Rough Country 1077 Adjustable Cherokee by Joe Drew

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Plan a few hours for this project.

After noticing that my old leaf springs were almost flat I decided to buy them to restore stock height while saving for new leaf springs. They were easy to install on my '00 XJ Sport, I won't even go into the details of how hard it was to remove the old ones, other than what I said was a whole can of PB Blaster and lots and lots of heat. It comes with all the hardware, but the two screws are actually shorter and go in the bottom and the longer ones go in the top. On my '00 I didn't need nuts/washers for the top bolts as they thread into a nut in the frame. You can see the screw doesn't exactly match what came out in the picture. You can also see bloody ankles from removing old shackles. Another thing to note, I used a 21mm socket to loosen the old bolts, a 22mm socket to put the new one on top and the bottom bolt was standard not metric so you need some tools. So why 4 instead of 5 stars? The hardware combination was awkward, although I like the extra height, I added about an inch and a half in the top holes. There are no instructions either. FYI if you have a Reese coupling you will need to remove it to fit the exhaust side brace as you want the head next to the exhaust not the nut as the nut is larger and in contact with the exhaust can come. .

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Fits
